Social Media Specialist/Coordinator – Internship

First Coast No More Homeless Pets is searching for an intern to help promote its social media content footprint and frequency.
Position Description: Responsible for establishing social media accounts and maintaining daily activity for all applicable outlets as well as assisting in the definition and execution of the specific social media strategy. The ultimate position goal will be to locate new and stimulate existing social network supporters regarding activism, donation and volunteer support.
Other duties may include:
– Cultivating new communities and managing branded online communities on the company’s behalf using Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc and other social media.
– Coordinating the marketing calendar with online activity, tracking social media influence measurements, partnering with tangent departments to ensure proper online messaging and relevancy and ensuring consistency of messages across multiple networks.
– Monitoring online competitor presences/perceptions, researching new blogs and channels for relevance/trend identification, etc and maintaining posting schedules.
– Helping promote search engine optimization per the FCNMHP website.
– Establishing and supporting an online “comment approval” process that is both reasonable and swift.
– This opportunity will work approximately 10 to 20 hours per week – albeit very sporadic – and will become a predominately virtual position.
Minimum Qualifications: The proper candidate will be pursuing a degree in marketing, journalism or new media, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on grammar/spelling quality. They will also have a proficient knowledge of the social media universe including LinkedIn, Twitter, Flickr, StumbleUpon, Delicious, Digg, reddit, forums, wikis and blogs.
