Student interns for the CIT program are needed in support of a Perkins Grant initiative to integrate Raspberry Pi systems in FSCJ computer programming courses. Interns will work as a team to design, implement, and document processes to configure and manage a cluster of Raspberry Pi systems and Ubuntu servers. Must be available to work onsite (FSCJ South Campus) for a minimum of 3 hours per week. Responsibilities include:
- hardware installation, configuration, and testing
- operating system installation, configuration, and updates
- network configuration
- installation, customization, and updates of utilities and applications
- system backup and restore
- interaction with GitHub repositories
- design and implementation of procedures, custom utilities, and applications in support of rollout for various courses
- automation of the above processes to the maximum extent possible
Desired qualifications
- familiarity with Unix variants, command line interaction, and scripting
- Python programming skills
- Java programming skills
- familiarity with network hardware and configuration
- a general comfort level working with hardware and electronics
a high level of curiosity and intense desire to learn new concepts
