Unpaid Raspberry Pi Internship Spring Semester 2020

Student interns for the CIT program are needed in support of a Perkins Grant initiative to integrate Raspberry Pi systems in FSCJ computer programming courses. Interns will work as a team to design, implement, and document processes to configure and manage a cluster of Raspberry Pi systems and Ubuntu servers. Must be available to work onsite (FSCJ South Campus) for a minimum of 3 hours per week. Responsibilities include:

  • hardware installation, configuration, and testing
  • operating system installation, configuration, and updates
  • network configuration
  • installation, customization, and updates of utilities and applications
  • system backup and restore
  • interaction with GitHub repositories
  • design and implementation of procedures, custom utilities, and applications in support of rollout for various courses
  • automation of the above processes to the maximum extent possible

    Desired qualifications

  • familiarity with Unix variants, command line interaction, and scripting
  • Python programming skills
  • Java programming skills
  • familiarity with network hardware and configuration
  • a general comfort level working with hardware and electronics

a high level of curiosity and intense desire to learn new concepts
