JOB DESCRIPTION
The Web Administrator will oversee the daily operation of the company websites.  Along with monitoring and maintenance, the Web Administrator will troubleshoot application issues to identify application, application server, network, database, load balancing, etc. problems affecting reliability or performance.  Responsibilities will also include proposing changes to the Application Delivery team to achieve high capacity and high availability. The Web Administrator will understand the current architecture and participate in upcoming architectural changes, especially to communicate to the rest of the Application Delivery team. Employee will interact with all levels of management and company employees, as well as vendors, and external consultants.

  • Managing and monitoring assigned solutions
  • Analyzing assigned system processes and efficiencies

  • Performance upgrades and patches for assigned solutions
  • Technical Documentation
  • Periodic Deployment of software modifications for assigned solutions
  • Participate in the On Call schedule for 24/7 assigned application support
  • Disaster Recovery planning and implementation
  • Maintaining a good attendance record
  • Participation in regularly scheduled design and implementation meetings
  • Specific activities for the corporate and field departments
  • Troubleshooting / support activities throughout the company
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or G.E.D. is required
  • BS in related field or 5 years of related WEB administration experience in lieu of education
  • A minimum of 3 years of related WEB administration experience is required which must include knowledge of Java/JVM and experience administering Java applications.
  • Understanding of best practices regarding Apache Tomcat, load balancing, monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting and at least 3 years of Tomcat administration experience.
  • Requires knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Deep knowledge in the operation and maintenance of high-traffic, scalable, redundant production web sites in enterprise environments.
  • Knowledge in the areas of custom software development and long term maintenance.
  • Knowledge and understanding of current trends within Java, web, cloud, and enterprise technologies
  • Proficient with a personal computer
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access), electronic mail, Internet access, and basic office equipment (printers, copiers, fax machine, calculator
  • Employee must treat all IT employees, consultants, Field Support employees, branch employees, customers, vendors, and all other individuals associated with the company with courtesy and respect at all times
  • Employee must be willing to conform to established technology and process standards
  • Employee must be able to work independently with minimal supervision or guidance
  • Employee must be focused on quality and timelines
