Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree or one of the following:
    • Associate degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Engineering, or related technology focused concentration plus 1 year of relevant practical experience or;

    • 1 year of relevant practical experience plus one or more applicable technology related certifications (certifications must be in active standing)

Homeland Security STEM Summer Internships

WashingtonThe U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) Office of University Programs (OUP) is now accepting applications for summer internships in homeland security related science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) for 2017. Interested applicants may apply until December 7.
The Homeland Security STEM Summer Internship is a 10-week summer internship program for students majoring in homeland security related science, technology, engineering and mathematics disciplines. The program provides students with quality research experiences at federal research facilities nationwide and allows students the opportunity to establish connections with DHS professionals.
These summer internships are offered in a broad spectrum of STEM disciplines and DHS mission-relevant research areas including engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biological and life sciences, environmental science, emergency and incident management, social sciences, and more. Undergraduate students receive a $6,000 stipend plus travel expenses, and graduate students receive a $7,000 stipend plus travel expenses.
Research experiences are offered at the U.S. Coast Guard Research and Development Center; U.S. Customs and Borders Protection; U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement; S&T Office for Interoperability and Compatibility; Federal Emergency Management Agency; National Urban Security Technology Laboratory; Transportation Security Laboratory; U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Engineer Research and Development Center; Health Service Corps; National Security Technologies; Naval Research Laboratory; and U.S. Department of Energy National Laboratories.

Paid Part-time PC Tech Position FSCJ Deerwood

We are looking for a student that is enrolled currently in the AS program that will be going on to one of the Bachelor programs. And we are interested in a student from each of the programs, the Information Technology Management and Computer Systems Networking and Telecommunications BAS degree programs.  The other requirements are:

1)       Completed the hardware and software classes, would prefer someone with A+ certification, but will take someone that has passed the 2 classes in lieu of A+
2)       Have 18-24 months, or more, remaining on their Bachelor degree program until completion.
3)       They are a year round, all 3 terms, student. They need to be taking Fall, Spring, and Summer classes
4)       Great customer skills and good personality and appearance.
