Pride Computer Systems (www.pridecomputersystems.com) is a Personal and Small business IT firm that has been servicing Jacksonville, Jacksonville Beach, Ponte Vedra, and St. Augustine for nearly 15 years. We keep 2-3 persons on staff, and we have a storefront in Jacksonville Beach. I also do in-home and in-office on-site repairs and installs.

Pride Computer Systems is looking for interns and temporary personnel to help with in-store bench work. This includes walk-in repairs, clean ups, hardware diagnostics, and installations. We will consider applicants for full time employment if a position is available or if they provide a needed technical skill.

Basic A+ certification is preferred, though not necessary so long as the applicant is comfortable working with computer components. It is also preferred that the applicant has a customer service oriented mind set and well developed soft skills. We work closely with our customers.

Role and Responsibilities

Provide top tier help desk technical support and hardware support for mobile devices (i.e. – handhelds, netbooks, tablets, etc.)  Project a professional company image through customer/end user interaction.  Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

• Respond to helpdesk tickets and complete requests within the designated SLA’s
• Image, configure and clean mobile devices for deployment to field users
• Facilitate repair, replacement, or warranty of defective hardware
• Maintain workflows and improve efficiencies for optimal response and resolution times
• Inventory control
• Shipping/receiving of new or used hardware

Qualifications and Education Requirements

1-2 years previous hardware technical support experience preferred.  However, 2-3 years of IT-related experience or qualification in IT or IT related field accepted.  Duties require professional verbal and written communications skills, computer and internet literacy with the ability to learn necessary software applications. Ideal candidate is strongly self-motivated and displays an apparent sense of urgency with the ability to follow through to completion any and all undertakings and assigned tasks.

Preferred Skills

Knowledge of the mobile devices including manufacturers, operating systems, and network service providers.

Working Conditions

Office Environment.  Position requires almost exclusive work using a telephone and computer.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Programmers will apply industry standard analysis, design, and programming techniques to design, develop and maintain software for Aircraft Maintenance and Flight Trainer Systems. Talented Programmers, Developers and Software Engineers who have modern computer science degrees and are seeking first employment are being sought for several of these positions.

JOB DUTIES

§  Analyze customers’ specifications to derive system requirements for developing and upgrading information processing and display systems, and formally document them in requirements documents and tables, utilizing modern management tools.

§  Analyze and design efficient solutions that satisfy requirements and provide efficient operational performance.

§  Assist in the development of work breakdown structures to analyze tasks and implement solutions, help define schedules; and produce software to meet schedule deadlines.  Support team in the creation of acceptance test documentation and run system test procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

§  Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or similar

§  0-3 years software development, with working knowledge of C#, C++ and object oriented design

§  Gaming and graphics experience is a plus

§  Ability to work well within a collaborative team environment including project manager and additional teammates

§  Highly effective organizational skills, demonstrated by the ability to set priorities, coordinate multiple assignments/tasks and maintain schedules

§  Strong verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated ability to effectively deliver a complex message – either written or verbal

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

A secret clearance may eventually be required in this position (not required at start)

UF Health is coming off two phases of transitioning to an electronic medical record environment and because of the demands of these implementations we are behind in replacing old computers throughout the hospital with new ones.  The skill level needed to help with this effort of switching out computers would require basic computer knowledge and a willingness to help in this manner.

The interested candidates would be processed through our volunteer department by completing an online application, background check (no expense to applicant), be cleared through our employee health department by providing immunization records, health history and showing proof of a recent PPD (TB) test, a reference check and completing an online general volunteer orientation.

Typically with internships, the school will set the amount of hours required in a certain timeframe.  For example, 200 hours during a certain semester.   The intern would receive free parking and a $7.00 meal benefit in our cafeteria on the days they are here helping.  The interns log in and out on an automated system while here so we are able to provide a printout of their time spent, etc.

The interns would be actively supporting our IT department while getting a good sense of how a busy IT department within healthcare operates day in and day out.
