They monitor around 25-30 businesses and meet all their IT needs. They currently are looking for a level 1 position and are willing to train the right person. 5. Who may be considered:

Applicant must be experienced in implementing the majority of common design patterns and Competent in at least several different application types, possibly including web, desktop, mobile, service, AppFabric, etc. The ability to act as a human ‘unit-test method,’ identifying design flaws in code written by others is a must. Should also have exposure to designing complex and highly normalized domain models, establishing aggregate and contextual boundaries.  Abhorred by the outdated ‘DAL, BLL’ approach, but familiar with a domain-driven-design layered architecture approach and a solid understanding of SQL, including performance considerations and execution plans.

Applicants who also have the following will be favored:

  1.  Some experience with JavaScript, including use of jQuery.
  2.  Able to read, understand, modify, and debug framework-level code.
  3.  Knowledgeable of LINQ and expression trees.
  4.  Familiarized with the changes and improvements with .NET 4.5 generation of framework releases.
  5. Experienced at writing unit tests.

Web Site Development/Design Opportunity

The CEO of Blazer Music Slow Grind Ent., an independent record label located here in Jacksonville, Fl.,  is very much interested in getting a student to assist with the designing of the company’s website. They currently have a host that they have signed up with and all of the necessary tools are available to design the site as they would like for it to appear however, the CEO lacks sufficient know-how of website designing.

Courses of Interest for the spring

We are offering two courses in the spring that may be of interest.

CTS2149 is the CAPM course which prepares you for the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® Exam.  Project Management has been an interest of students and is a attractive career in the field.  This is one of the certifications that can make help you enter the project management area.

The second is CIS2930 it is the Special Topics course.  The course will concentrate in the area of mobile application development for the Android.  Mobile application is another area that seems to be growing, and I have been receiving more interest from companies and individuals looking for interns to help them develop applications.

Project Achieve/TIES Technology Support Internship

Description:
Project Achieve is looking for an intern to provide technical support and curriculum conversion in an iOS based classroom. The intern will work under a teacher to convert workforce certificate curriculums into study materials to be accessed through iOS devices. This will require converting materials from books to digital format and distributing the information with existing apps.

Project Achieve is a support service provided by the Office of Services for Students with Disabilities. The intern will need to be able to interact with a diverse population of students and faculty/staff to evaluate the effectiveness of their work and offer technical suggestions for improved outcomes.

Skills:

– Experience with iOS devices (iPad/iPod)

– Experience with iOS productivity and education Apps

– Experience with google docs, image and audio uploads, Microsoft Office suite, recording devices, online classroom management resources, and basic image manipulation

– Ability to work independently once a task has been assigned

– Problem solving when working with new or unproven technologies and software
