Robert Half Technology

The Southern Center for Cooperative Learning, of which Professor Ric French is a board member, needs an intern to develop a marketing plan for our courses and workshops offered. The plan needs to cover publicity, brochures, posters, website and email information dissemination with one, coherent look.

The project will take approximately 60 hours and the board is ready to get started now.

The final product will consist of a written plan, brochure master, new logo and design masters for emails and the blog. The project needs to conclude before January 11.

If you have taken ISM4302 and possibly MAR4814 you should have basic knowledge for this position.

Professor Ric French needs a person able to program in C++ who can originate a program to score the new Myers-Briggs Type Indicator.

The MBTI consists of 93 force-choice items. The scores are tabulated and then translated into a final score, an X-Y breakdown and a Word-pair vs phrase breakdown. I have the score sheets and the scoring templates. There is very little math. It will have to be profusely commented.

He is ready now to commence. I estimate the project to take about 60 hours with an alpha test December 14, a beta of December 28 and a compiled gold master date of January 4.

He will need the source code and compiled product. It will not only serve to score the students Myers-Briggs but be analyzed as an example of a program written in C++ for my COP 1000 students.

We currently have a Internship and Full Time Position Available. The company is called The Scarlett Group and they are a managed service provider. They monitor around 25-30 businesses and meet all their IT needs. They currently are looking for a level 1 position and are willing to train the right person. This experience and knowledge that this potential employee will be exposed to is endless. Some of the everyday systems we access include: Firewalls –  Sonicwall and Cisco ASA, Server – Microsoft Windows 2008 R2 and above, and Exchange – Hosted and Onsite. Applicant must be experienced in implementing the majority of common design patterns and Competent in at least several different application types, possibly including web, desktop, mobile, service, AppFabric, etc. The ability to act as a human ‘unit-test method,’ identifying design flaws in code written by others is a must. Should also have exposure to designing complex and highly normalized domain models, establishing aggregate and contextual boundaries.  Abhorred by the outdated ‘DAL, BLL’ approach, but familiar with a domain-driven-design layered architecture approach and a solid understanding of SQL, including performance considerations and execution plans.

Applicants who also have the following will be favored:

1.  Some experience with JavaScript, including use of jQuery.
2.  Able to read, understand, modify, and debug framework-level code.
3.  Knowledgeable of LINQ and expression trees.

The CEO of Blazer Music Slow Grind Ent., an independent record label located here in Jacksonville, Fl.,  is very much interested in getting a student to assist with the designing of the company’s website. They currently have a host that they have signed up with and all of the necessary tools are available to design the site as they would like for it to appear however, the CEO lacks sufficient know-how of website designing.

Looking for someone to with a music producer entrepreneur who is in need of assistance with development of a website for the business.  Knowledge of Bandzoogle would be a plus, but not necessary.  Contact Dr. Cole rocole@fscj.edu if interested.  Could be used for a possible internship fulfillment.

This company is looking to create a broader web presence, especially with the recent development of a new service for the company.  They are looking for a web designer/programmer proficient in word press to aid in developing seminars available live and online.

As a plus this individual should also have awesome professionalism, knowledge of intern marketing, and organization of information.

We are offering two courses in the spring that may be of interest.

CTS2149 is the CAPM course which prepares you for the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® Exam.  Project Management has been an interest of students and is a attractive career in the field.  This is one of the certifications that can make help you enter the project management area.

The second is CIS2930 it is the Special Topics course.  The course will concentrate in the area of mobile application development for the Android.  Mobile application is another area that seems to be growing, and I have been receiving more interest from companies and individuals looking for interns to help them develop applications.
