Put the following in the email subject line: rpi\u00a0internship<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>I am requesting a student intern for the CIT program in support of my 2017\/2018 Perkins Grant initiative to incorporate the Raspberry Pi in FSCJ computer programming courses. The intern will work with me to design, implement, and document processes to configure and manage a large cluster of Raspberry Pi systems. These processes include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>hardware installation, configuration, and testing<\/li>\n<li>operating system installation, configuration, and updates<\/li>\n<li>network configuration<\/li>\n<li>installation, customization, and updates of utilities and applications<\/li>\n<li>system backup and restore<\/li>\n<li>interaction with GitHub repositories<\/li>\n<li>design and implementation of procedures, custom utilities, and applications in support of rollout for various courses<\/li>\n<li>automation of the above processes to the maximum extent possible<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Desired qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>familiarity with Unix variants, command line interaction, and scripting<\/li>\n<li>Python programming skills<\/li>\n<li>Java programming skills<\/li>\n<li>familiarity with network hardware and configuration<\/li>\n<li>a general comfort level for working with hardware<\/li>\n<li>a high level of curiosity<\/li>\n<li>an intense desire to learn new concepts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>David Singletary<br \/>\nProfessor of Information Technology<br \/>\nFlorida State College at Jacksonville<br \/>\ndasingle@fscj.edu<br \/>\nSouth Campus F-221<br \/>\n904-646-2212<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Please submit cover letter and resume to David Singletary (dasingle@fscj.edu).
