Interns will work as a team to design, implement, and document processes to configure and manage a cluster of Raspberry Pi systems and Ubuntu servers. Must be available to work onsite (FSCJ South Campus) for a minimum of 3 hours per week. Responsibilities include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>hardware installation, configuration, and testing<\/li>\n<li>operating system installation, configuration, and updates<\/li>\n<li>network configuration<\/li>\n<li>installation, customization, and updates of utilities and applications<\/li>\n<li>system backup and restore<\/li>\n<li>interaction with GitHub repositories<\/li>\n<li>design and implementation of procedures, custom utilities, and applications in support of rollout for various courses<\/li>\n<li>automation of the above processes to the maximum extent possible\n<p><strong>Desired qualifications<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>familiarity with Unix variants, command line interaction, and scripting<\/li>\n<li>Python programming skills<\/li>\n<li>Java programming skills<\/li>\n<li>familiarity with network hardware and configuration<\/li>\n<li>a general comfort level working with hardware and electronics<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>a high level of curiosity and intense desire to learn new concepts<\/p>\n<p>Submit cover letter and resume to Prof. Singletary (<a href=\"mailto:david.singletary@fscj.edu\">david.singletary@fscj.edu<\/a>).<br \/>\nEmail subject line: RPI\u00a0internship<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Student interns for the CIT program are needed in support of a Perkins Grant initiative to integrate Raspberry Pi systems in FSCJ computer programming courses.
