A U.S. Department of Labor TAACCCT Award Recipient targeting TA-Eligible Participants

The Florida Regional Consortium for Technology-Enabled Learning Solutions (FRC-TEC) was awarded a U.S. Department of Labor grant through the Education and Training Administration’s TAACCCT grant program. The consortium consists of ten state and community colleges throughout Florida, with Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ) as the lead administrative and fiscal agent. The other colleges are Chipola College, Daytona State College, Edison State College, Florida Gateway College, Lake Sumter Community College, Palm Beach State College, Pensacola State College, St. Johns River State College, Tallahassee Community College.  The focus of the grant is to promote student access and completion through restructuring and acceleration of Information Technology and Health Sciences programs to better prepare students for high wage/high demand career pathways.

The FRC-TEC program designs career readiness steps—from entry level to advanced training— to expand and improve each consortium member’s capacity to deliver education and career programs using technology-enabled training and restructured delivery to help prepare a projected 975 program participants for employment by the grants completion. The table below lists the grant-improved programs offered at each of the consortium colleges and that lead to a technical certificate or associates degree as a pathway to employment.  The partner Workforce Improvement Board is also listed since they play a key role in employment process.
