As an IT Helpdesk Technician, duties include answering queries on basic technical issues and offering advice to solve them. It is also required to be customer-oriented and patient to deal with difficult customers and time sensitive situations.

The goal is to create value for clients that will help preserve the company’s reputation and business.

Responsibilities

· Serve as the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance over the phone or email

· Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions

· Determine the best solution based on the issue and details provided by customers

· Walk the customer through the problem-solving process

· Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel

· Provide accurate information on IT products or services

· Record events and problems and their resolution within a ticketing software.

· Follow-up and update customer status and information

· Pass on any feedback or suggestions by customers to the appropriate internal team

· Identify and suggest possible improvements on procedures

Requirements

· Tech savvy with working knowledge of remote support, basic networking, and hardware issues

· Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices and other tech products

· Ability to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues over phone or email.

· Excellent communication skills

· Customer-oriented

This is a 3 month contract with the possibility for more. They want 2 to 4 people who could help people with Office 365 apps and Google apps. It is a help desk position in Nassau County. The IT Support Specialist is responsible for coordinating and supporting the use of computer and information technology within the departments, colleges, or divisions that include, but are not limited to: Office of the President, Administration & Finance, Academic Affairs, Institutional Advancement and Student affairs as directed by the IT Support Coordinator (356690). Maintains a detailed inventory of all IT equipment within supported area, ensures security in the maintenance and storage of all equipment, and compliance with software licenses. Provides oversight for interfacing with appropriate University Systems. Contacts appropriate vendors for quotes on new equipment and enhancements to existing system. Serves as the end-user contact for connecting with other support personnel and software vendors. Attends Information Technology Services and other department meetings as needed and serves as the technical liaison between the Information Technology Services department and customers. Performs other elated duties as assigned by the IT Support Coordinator (356690) in Information Technology Services.

The Energy Authority, a company located downtown Jacksonville that is owned by multiple energy companies, is hiring a part-time helpdesk person.
