August 2022: Dr. Greg Worth, Dean of Workforce Education

For the past three years, Dean of Workforce Education Dr. Greg Wurth has served FSCJ as the Director of Workforce and Community Development where he works with local industries and non-profits to develop workforce educational solutions to meet the needs of the expanding First Coast economy. In this role, he has provided leadership, vision and direction to the Continuing Workforce Education (CWE) Department. During this time, CWE has seen an expansion in courses offered, students enrolled and served, student employment and connections with internal and external stakeholders.

Prior to FSCJ, Dr. Wurth served as the Director of Organizational Learning and Development for Georgia Southern University, the Director of Services for the University of Pennsylvania foundation (Penn Athletics), Lecturer, and Director of Basic Courses for the Department of Organizational Communication at Murray State University. Prior to working full-time in higher education, Greg worked in marketing for various private companies while teaching (as an adjunct) communication courses for various higher education institutions.

He has an Associate of Arts from West Kentucky Community and Technical College, a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations and a Master of Science in Organizational Communication from Murray State University, as well as a Doctorate in Education Leadership from Drexel University.

Originally from Western Kentucky (Paducah), Greg has lived in the Philadelphia, PA area, and Savannah, GA, prior to moving to the Jacksonville region. Currently, he and his beautiful wife, Karri, live in Saint Johns with their two intelligent and kind daughters Isabella and Bailey, a couple of cats and a dog named Winston. The Wurths enjoy boating, beaching, traveling, exploring the area’s restaurants and photography.
